I qualified as a physiotherapist from St Thomas Hospital too long ago to mention. I worked in London and Australia while travelling. Eventually I found myself in Coventry working in a variety of roles including management and research. I found Pilates in 2000 and have never looked back.
I have always enjoyed sport and exercise. I strongly believe that 'movement' in many forms helps to resolve many problems both physical and mental. Combining Pilates with physiotherapy appealed as it is a form of exercise that can be adapted to suit almost anyone.
I plan my classes to provide an all over workout, with progression as the weeks go by. I often use equipment both to add variety and fun. My classes can be quite fast paced, particularly for more advanced groups. I often use lower level exercises as a prelude to something harder which allows you to work at a level that suits you that day.
Having run classes in church halls and bars etc, I decided I needed my own space and with a lot of sweat and tears, converted the basement of our house into a studio in 2008. The Well Centre ran from here for 16 years until our move to Russell Street in 2024.
Just over a year ago in Apr 2025, I relocated to the north coast of Cornwall near my daughter and now spend my days happily stomping around the cliffs and playing with my 2 granddaughters (soon to be 3)
I like to go on hiking holidays-this year was Georgia and Germany. Previously-Albania, Slovenia, India etc. I’ve found a great pickleball club down here so am playing a lot! I love to ski also!!
My sons live in Barcelona and London so I have great places to visit ‘up country’ as well as Leamington of course.
Just recently, I passed the reins of The Well Centre to new fresh eyes so that it will continue to deliver a high standard of classes.
But I continue to be part of the team and will still be teaching but mostly on zoom.
